HACHURE
The focus of my work is the unexpected beauty of both natural and man made weathering sparked by something as mundane as the humble paving stone.
Surfaces are generated by the means of building up and wearing away – a layering and removal of materials that implies processes occurring over time – depicting the effects of erosion.
Natural weathering and erosion slowly chisel, polish and buff whereas man made chemical and mechanical events can induce catastrophic trauma – both processes create an energy that captives and inspires me.
